Kasalla – For music fans up and down the river, they have been Cologne’s most popular and successful dialect band since 2011.This is a status that Kasalla now occupies unchallenged almost seven years after their formation, not least due to the chart success of their 2017 album „Mer sin eins“.

The band’s fourth studio album made it from 0 to No. 5 in the German album charts at the first go, giving the band not only the first Top Ten ranking of their career but also the current highest chart entry of a Cologne band since BAP in 1981.

The Cologne band’s success story was crowned by another mega highlight in 2018, as they were nominated for the German music award ECHO. This makes them the first Cologne band since the Höhners and BAP ever to be nominated for an ECHO. This spectacular achievement is tantamount to a musical march from the district league to the Champions League – because what hardly anyone outside the cathedral metropolis knows is that the musical competition in Cologne is far greater and more intense than in any other major German city.
